Why Is The YOYO So Popular?

Whilst it may have changed owners to Stokke, the YOYO range has consistently provided a sense of Babyzen, as the strollers are a consistent favourite piece of baby equipment to rent.
There are many reasons for this, but by far the biggest is that it somehow manages to square the circle and be a comfortable, safe and secure stroller that is astonishingly lightweight.
The entire YOYO range, including the most recent YOYO 3, is designed around extreme lightness and versatility, being small enough to fit through most doors easily, light enough at just six kilogrammes to make it easily manoeuvrable when out and about, and with a class-leading foldability.
The big selling point of the YOYO is that it is a rare example of a folding pushchair that can be folded up easily and stored in an overhead compartment, making it an ideal companion whilst travelling on holiday with young children.
However, this lightness does not come at the expense of functionality or safety, and the YOYO is suitable from birth up to 48 months (three years), with babies up to 22kg (three stone, six pounds) comfortably supported.
It has a five-point safety harness, a seat base for babies over six months, a reversible backrest and a canopy that is also an effective sunshade for protecting babies when they travel on a winter sunny holiday. It also has a carrying strap to make carrying it about whilst folded even easier.
It is rare for a pram to get the kind of cult attention that the YOYO has, with a hype and excitement perhaps not seen since the glory days of the venerable Silver Cross, which emerged for very different reasons.
Part of it comes down ultimately to word of mouth; whilst a lightweight, long-lasting pram capable of handling any city break seemed too good to be true, once people actually tried it and found it was not, word spread like wildfire.
Pair this with celebrity endorsements from the likes of Chrissy Teigen and Kiera Knightly, and perhaps it is no surprise that it became as popular as it did.
