Top Tips For A Wonderful First City Break With Your Baby

Many new parents are eagerly looking forward to the first time they can take their baby away on holiday, and with the right preparation, the right rental equipment and the right mindset, few holidays are better than a city break.
The first holiday for a child is a great way to soak in local culture, sights, sounds and smells, and here are some tips to make the most of the hustle and bustle without being overwhelming.
Choose A Walkable City
When it comes to a city break with a baby or toddler, location matters a lot, but it is less a question of distance from home and more a question of distance from the hotel.
You want a city with a lot of green spaces and plenty of exciting attractions to catch the eye of your baby, but more important than anything else it needs to be a walkable city.
This typically means one where everything is within reasonable walking distance, where much of the city centre and major tourist sights are in pedestrianised areas, and where the roads are not too bumpy so as to jolt your toddler and upset them.
Opt For Short Flights
As with any other holiday, travel time is essential, and it is always best to choose flights and hotels designed with babies in mind.
Make sure your baby will be okay for the duration of the flight and choose hotels with baby changing facilities, quiet areas and cots.
Pack The Essentials
It always pays to be prepared, and even for city breaks it is essential to have all of the essentials you would have for any other holiday.
Make sure you have a go bag packed, sunscreen, a sun hat, a protective screen you can add to your pram, bibs, floaties and swim nappies if you plan on going to a pool. As well, do not forget the cuddly toy and blanket.
