Which Is Best: BabyZen/Stokke YOYO Or Maxi Cosi Lara 2?

When it comes to the best baby equipment to rent when going on holiday, the virtue is in versatility and the devil is in the details.

Two excellent options are the BabyZen/Stokke YOYO, a stroller so nice they named it twice, and the Maxi Cosi Lara 2, an excellent straightforward option that lives up to its “Maxi Cosi” moniker.

If you choose either baby carriage for your next holiday, you are unlikely to be disappointed. Both are very comfortable and approved by both babies and cabins alike. Still, each option is better for different types of holidays and families.

The Maxi Cosi Lara 2 is designed for travel, with an ultra-compact folding frame that allows it to lie completely flat, making it perfectly suited for flights where space is naturally going to be at a premium.

It also has two storage baskets, is suitable from birth, has a breathable, premium padded seat and is compatible with car seats, meaning that it is also suitable for holiday travel.

At the same time, its economy is somewhat tempered by lacking a bit of luxury compared to the premium YOYO and any accessories you might need for your trip are going to be optional extras.

Meanwhile, the YOYO is an extremely prolific and recognised stroller, to the point that when Stokke bought BabyZen, they kept the name.

It has a reputation for luxury, comfort and excellence, and whilst not every parent cares about the name for its own sake, it does mean that it is a recognised symbol of excellence, comfort and safety in the stroller world.

It also has a lot of options for accessories to make it perfect for your holiday.

The caveat to this is that, unlike the Lara 2, it does not lie completely flat or fold down quite as compactly. As well as this, a premium name commands a premium price.

Either is worth renting, but exactly which one comes down to what matters most to you.
